Service held for Maxine Reynolds

Posted in:

Maxine Reynolds entered her heavenly home March 9, 2024. She was born June 14, 1932, in Atwood, Oklahoma to Homer Amp and Esther Davis. Maxine grew up in Atwood and graduated from Atwood High School with the class of 1950. While in high school, she was active in all class activities and a member of the girls’ basketball team for four years.

Maxine married the love of her life, SSgt William (Bill) Reynolds, November 3, 1951, in Capitan, New Mexico. The newlyweds resided in Roswell, New Mexico, where Bill was stationed at Walker Air Force Base. Being a miliary family they had the opportunity to live on numerous bases across the United States from Alaska, Arkansas, New York and finally Arizona. Upon retiring from the Air Force Bill brought Maxine and their younger children back to her home state of Oklahoma.

Maxine then found her passion working as a successful real estate agent for Roy McCoy & Associates. Maxine and Bill were blessed with 40 years of a truly wonderful marriage prior to Bill’s passing in 1992. She loved working outside in her yard and spending time doing numerous different crafts. She had a special eye for interior décor and loved decorating her home with many treasures she had acquired browsing antique stores across the state.

Above all, Maxine adored her family and loved spending time with them. Like most grandmothers, she especially treasured the moments she was able to spend with each of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, H.A. and Esther Davis; her husband, William Reynolds; her daughter, Jan O’Connor; as well as two brothers, Cordell Davis and Othell Davis, and one sister, Mary Helen Lale.

Those left to continue her legacy include her children, Donald Reynolds of Glendale, Arizona, Roger Reynolds and wife Jeanine of Lubbock, Texas, Linda Waldrop and husband Scott of Oklahoma City, and Bill Reynolds of Jones, Oklahoma. Maxine is also survived by two brothers, Tommy Davis of Ada and Harold Davis of Allen; four sisters, Delores Ellis of Oklahoma City, Lena Stick of Ada, Shirley Hubbard of Oklahoma City, and Mickie Hatfield of Chandler; and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Services were 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 13th, at the Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home, Oklahoma City. Interment followed at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
